Five for Friday

My list of favorites changes almost daily, no matter the subject or category, so don’t hold me to this any time after tomorrow!

My Five Favorite Books (For Now):

Pride-and-Prejudice_BN

1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

This is a classic. How can you not love it? Elizabeth Bennett is so intrepid and avant-garde. Mr. Darcy *swoon*. And it’s funny! If you haven’t read this it needs to be your absolute, next must-read.

2. Thanks for the Memories by Cecelia Ahern

I love Cecelia Ahern. She does magical realism that is fun, fresh, and really charming. This was my first Cecelia Ahern and remains my favorite. She has a new book coming out really soon so I’m brushing up in anticipation.

TKAM

2. To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

This is just perfect. I love Scout. I love Atticus. I’ll have to have at least one girl and boy in order to name them accordingly. I have not read Go Set a Watchmen. I’m nervous.

**Yes. There are two number twos. I couldn’t decide and it’s my blog so I decided I didn’t have to.

3. Dubliners by James Joyce

I started reading this over the summer for a class and really enjoyed it, so much so, I’m actually reading it again. There’s a reason he’s a literary icon.

LW

4. Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Along with Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott is one of the founding mothers of women’s fiction. She’s incredible and this is one of the most charming novels ever written.

5. Learn the Bible in 24 Hours by Chuck Missler

Great for getting a better idea of the cultural context of the Bible when it was written.

Check out all my book lists on GoodReads!

Don’t y’all just love some of these book covers?! It makes me want to go out and buy these all over again, just so I can get the best new cover. I got this idea from a friend of mine’s blog–Lisa Loves John. She’s always doing something fabulous and sharing it with her online friends.
